Every parent’s top priority is to ensure that their children develop and prosper. You’ll need some things to get you through your baby’s first year of feeding, whether you opt to breastfeed or formula-feed. We’ve tried a lot of goods and put together a list of some of our favourites for feeding your baby in the first year.

For the First Year, the Best Baby Feeding Products

You’ll need several bottles first.

Every household requires a few bottles to assist with baby’s feedings. Even if you intend to breastfeed exclusively, there may be occasions when you need to leave the house or would prefer your partner to assist you with a feeding or two. This is why every family requires at least a couple of baby bottles.

Bottles of Comotomo

Comotomo bottles are one of our favourites since they are meant to closely resemble nursing in order to prevent bottle rejection and nipple confusion. They’re composed of 100% safe, sanitary silicone that’s free of BPA, PVC, and phthalates. The dual anti-colic vents, which prevent undesired air ingestion and minimise colic, are popular with babies, while parents appreciate the wide-neck design, which makes cleaning easier. These don’t require the use of a bottle brush!

We tested their Baby Bottle Bundle, which includes two 5 ounce bottles, two 8 ounce bottles, and one box of each of their replacement nipples for slow, medium, and fast flow. It’s a wonderful present for a family expecting a child. Green or pink bottles are available.

Feeding Bottles

Baby Bottle are among our favourites, and we really like their convertible bottle, which may be used with or without the vent system! Their redesigned vent system is made to develop alongside your child. To get the most out of this bottle’s health advantages, we recommend adopting this strategy. It aids in the reduction of feeding issues, digestion, and the preservation of milk components such as Vitamins C, A, and E, which are essential for infancy’s health.

As their baby grows and their feedings become more sophisticated, some parents find that eliminating the vent is a more convenient option (since there is less to assemble and clean). The nipple venting creates a timed flow and a feeding experience that is comparable to that of most nipple-vented bottles. Another feature we appreciate about their bottles is that they are compatible with most breast pumps, allowing you to pump directly into them! They are BPA-free and created in the United States of America. Their bottles have also been found to help with colic, spit-up, burping, and gas.

Three 8-ounce baby bottles with level 1 nipples, two 4-ounce baby bottles with level 1 nipples, two-level 2 nipples, two storage caps, one Prevent Butterfly Pacifier, and two cleaning brushes are included in the Infant Gift Set.

Bottles of PopYum

PopYum bottles are one of our favourites, and we’ve been suggesting them for years. (Read our complete evaluation of their bottles here, and see our video here.) If you’re seeking for a more convenient way to give your infant formula, this is the bottle for you. You don’t have to make a mess when out with your baby trying to manufacture and mix a bottle. All you need is this bottle, one hand to press the two side buttons, a few shakes, and your bottle is ready for your hungry baby! The bottle’s wide form eliminates the need for a bottle brush, and it’s manufactured entirely of medical-grade silicone and superior polypropylene. BPA, BPS, latex, lead nitrosamines, PET phthalates, PVC, and TPE are also absent.

Advanced Baby Formula

When it comes to formula, Baby Brezza’s Formula Pro Advanced will be your closest friend if you decide to exclusively formula feed your baby. Their award-winning Formula Pro automatically mixes, warms, and dispenses the perfect consistency and temperature of formula or water. It consistently produces the ideal bottle. Many people like it since it works with almost any formula brand, any bottle type, and it’s completely adjustable. You have the option of:

2–10 ounces in 1-ounce increments

To prepare a bottle of formula or water solely, there are three warming settings (room temperature, body temperature, and warmer than body temperature).

The tray also adjusts to fit both large and small bottles, which we enjoy. It’s essentially the Keurig of formula bottle preparation. We can’t get enough of it, and neither can our parents.

You’ve progressed to solids.

Once your paediatrician has given you the go-ahead to introduce solids to your baby, you’ll need a few additional feeding items to make mealtimes a success.

Baby is a baby food maker made by Baby .

Baby Glass One Step Baby Food Maker is a great option for parents who want to prepare their own baby food. It’s the only food processor that steams and combines homemade baby food to the correct consistency in just one simple step. In as little as 10 minutes, the glass bowl can prepare 4 cups of baby food, and it’s very simple to use and clean.

Other features we enjoy are the LCD control panel, the fully accessible steam tank, the dishwasher-safe bowl and blade, and the removable water tank. This baby food machine can also be used to prepare non-baby cuisine. It’s great for steaming pasta and vegetables, hard-boiling eggs, and even soup! It’s an item you’ll be able to use long after your child has outgrown it.

High Chair with bowl, utensils, and cup High chair with placemat with bowl, utensils, and cup

Your baby will need a place to sit now that you’ve prepared some delectable food for him. On the market, there are a plethora of excellent high chairs. The Stokke Trip Trap High Chair and the 4moms High Chair are two of our favourites.

You’ll need some bowls and plates for serving now that you’ve chosen a spot for your baby to sit and eat. Mealtime becomes less stressful, messy, and overwhelming with the First Foods Set. It includes a 2-ounce cup, two spoons, and a 5-ounce silicone bowl that is dishwasher and microwave safe. Their items are made to last and will not rust or fade. The size and design provide the developmental tools you need for your baby’s first foods and drinks, as well as assisting your baby in gaining independence in eating and drinking.

Bibs

It’s easy to get into a mess when you’re eating! Of course, your baby will require a bib (or several). colourful food-grade silicone bibs with a built-in shelf that collects spills and crumbs, making mealtime cleaning even easier. They include a back of the neck latch that can be adjusted to keep your infant comfortable, and the closure is difficult for small hands to take off. Plus, each bib has a clever slogan on it that makes for a wonderful conversation starter.

Dishwasher-safe bibs boast a soft, malleable shape that folds for travel or on-the-go food. They’re devoid of BPA, PVC, and phthalates, and all of their goods are CPSIA-compliant, which means they’re completely safe.

Pib bibs for babies

The Pib baby bib is a must-see if you’re seeking for a bib for your baby during mealtime. It’s a new take on the bib! It keeps your young one’s shirt and shorts clean! The snap closures make it impossible for your child to take it off, and the notch and “crotch” protector allow you to wear it in a highchair, car seat, or stroller without sacrificing the bib’s functionality or protection. With this bib, you can now protect your baby’s complete clothing. Pibs come in sizes 6M-3T. So parents, be ready to be ecstatic. With the Pib, the mess has met its equal!

360 Cups Munchkin

Munchkin’s Miracle 360° Cups are another favourite of ours. Things can get messy when tiny ones are learning to drink from glasses, especially sippy cups. This is why we adore this sippy cup because it prevents spills and messes while also promoting children’s dental health. Your youngster can drink from anywhere around the rim, just like a regular cup, and the liquid will pass through the lip triggered rim. This aids in a child’s mouth’s regular muscle development. When your child isn’t drinking from it, the valve closes automatically, producing a leak-proof seal. The Miracle 360 Cup is simple to use and clean because it has no extra spouts, straws, or parts. That’s fantastic!

Feeding utensils that are easy to grab

Grabease utensils are one of the safest ways for your child to start self-feeding if you’re seeking for new utensils for your infant. They’re made with a proportionate tool for their natural hand grab and motion, as well as a choke safety barrier, to allow little children to eat independently. Their ergonomic design encourages the appropriate gripping of utensils. This is why occupational therapists prescribe them for the development of children’s finger strength. The choking prevention barrier also gives parents piece of mind while their children experiment with different foods and gain confidence during solo eating times.

Princess Re-Play Set

We recommend using Re-feeding Play’s items once your child has gained some self-feeding experience and confidence. We love that their goods are created, assembled, and tested in the United States using recycled milk jugs and FDA-approved Recycled Polypropylene for food contact. Recycling plastic reduces greenhouse gas emissions and saves electricity.

We adore their sets and the variety of colours available. Plates with deep sides are designed to assist young children who are learning to eat independently. You can select between divided plates and plates without dividers. The plates are separated into three portions, each of which is suited appropriately for your child. You can serve a variety of healthy foods at mealtime while keeping foods separate for picky eaters. The utensils from Re-Play are also the right size for your child, with chunky handles that are easy to grip and use. Deep spoons keep food in place, and forks have blunt tips to keep kids safe.

Mat for a Busy Baby

As you probably already know, newborns and toddlers have a proclivity for dropping and throwing things. This happens at mealtimes as well. With the first-ever placemat to keep toys in place, you can put an end to the “toddler toss” whether you’re at home or in a restaurant! This baby placemat adheres to any smooth, clean surface and can be used to secure your baby’s toys. Tethers are included with this placemat to keep toys within reach and germ-free!

The Busy Baby Mat is a suction placemat made of 100% food-grade silicone that is safe for babies and toddlers. It’s a secure location for your baby’s food, as well as toys and pacifiers that would otherwise end up on the filthy floor. Many parents use the mat as a restaurant placemat, while others use it to keep their babies entertained in their highchairs. The mat and tethers come with a handy carrying sleeve that can be rolled up and stuffed into most purses and diaper bags.
