Narcissists Have No Respect for the Truth
Narcissists minimize, exaggerate, deflect and project
Narcissists are pathological liars, it is a part of their mental makeup. They have no capacity to be completely honest. Narcs tend to swing between minimization of the facts and exaggeration of the facts. There is very little in between.
And of course, the reasons they either minimize or exaggerate is to make themselves look better. To know a narcissist is to know that everything the narcissist does is self-serving.
If you do something displeasing to the narcissist, it gets blown out of proportion.
If the narcissist did something displeasing to you, the narcissist minimizes it.
The narcissist has to be ‘right’ and has to be the ‘good guy’ in the story, no matter how factually false that may be. They will convince themselves of this and attempt to convince you and anyone else who will listen to their distorted narrative.
The narcissist is the one living in a glass house throwing stones at others.
