I got the opportunity, back in April, to travel to Memphis and photograph some of the events surrounding the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination in 1968. One such event was a gathering at the church where he gave his last speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.” The church was packed to the rafters with civil rights leaders, union members and family. There were plenty of inspiring speeches and absolutely no AC. Shoutout to AFSCME.
