Category-based Draws

There are six main categories in the Express Entry System -

  1. Healthcare occupations

2. STEM occupations

3. General Draw

From January to March 2024, a total of 9090 invitations were issued under the General draw type. The highest CRS score recorded during this was 546 and the lowest CRS score was 525.

4. Trade Occupations

5. Transport Occupations

6. Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations

Candidates with work experience as butchers, agricultural service contractors, farm supervisors, and other roles are given importance in the agriculture and agri-food industries.

In February 2024, 150 invitations were issued to apply under the Agriculture and Agri-food category to be eligible for Canada Permanent Residency. The CRS score for this group was 437.

7. French Language Proficiency

Candidates eligible for French language skills are those who score at least a level 7 in each of the four language proficiency domains — reading, writing, speaking, and listening the country’s French language grading system.

A total of 9500 invitations were issued with CRS score cut-off being ranging from 336 to 365.
