But domination and exploitation of human and other resources are the essence of capitalism, for which we are told There Is No Alternative. No doubt humans will continue to have marginal uses, but if you can get most of your stuff done or made using robots and other machines, you may not need many of them, and some people will start to think about getting rid of a good many of them. I’m interested in any proposal for ‘the human use of human beings’, but I don’t think Amazon, yet another scheme to extract value from labor, is going to be the solution.
