In 2015, Starta Accelerator was launched as an expansion vehicle of Starta Ventures, a New York-based VC firm, providing equal investment and expansion opportunity for early-stage tech entrepreneurs. Our vision has always been to support high-impact innovative technologies with global value propositions and sound management teams from underserved markets.

Seven batches, three years and over 100 startups later, we are thrilled to continue our mission with our new restructured program.

Become a Global Resident

With Starta Batch 8 starting in September 2019, we are celebrating the launch of our new Global Residency Track, the result of evolution from the traditional acceleration approach.

The new program format has been specifically tailored to sourcing and vetting companies for Starta’s new $50M Fund, which has a target of investing into 15–20 companies per year. The fund offers $200k-$500k to the top performing residents and will provide further support in co-investment deals. The companies will be selected based on the product-market and investment fit.

Participation in the Global Residency Track will have flexible terms for companies at pre-seed, seed, and early growth stages, operating on an advisory fee of 3–6% (calculated based on the stage of the company). Earlier stage companies looking to cover relocation costs will be eligible for initial cash investment.

During the Global Residency founders will get support in establishing business operations in the US and laying out the foundation for global penetration. They will also be able to test and validate market and investor interest.

The new format specifically focuses on matching every company with industry-specific advisers and developing strong, resilient connections with US partners and clients from day one. Participants will also have access to product support, coworking space, legal and financial advisory services, as well as partner credits and perks.

The track runs from September 15th — December 15th and will accept up to 20 companies.

Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2019.
