Startin.LV’s Record-Breaking Year in Review ☄️
It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, always pushing ourselves to do more and be better. But it’s also vital to take a step back and celebrate the small wins to achieve big goals.
We’ve never felt so much love and encouragement from the growing community of members — it’s honestly been the essential catalyst behind the association`s progress.
We are also grateful for the active engagement of our followers that provided valuable feedback and helped to share our news and insights about the local startup scene.
And last but not least, we’ve gotta give a shoutout to our amazing board members. They’ve been total rockstars this year, always there to lend a hand and guide Startin.LV in the right direction. So, as we look back on the past year, let’s pat ourselves on the back and see what was accomplished! 👇
- As if hitting the 100 members milestone 💥 wasn’t impressive enough, our association continued to thrive and reached the mark of 118 members by the end of 2022! In total, 54 new members joined our ranks this year compared to 23 members in 2021.
- We’ve given Latvian Startup Database a major upgrade, adding over 200 hand-picked and verified startups and implementing new data fields. This was made possible largely thanks to the support of the Ministry of Economics, who backed us as a yearlong project that wrapped up in December.
- Startin.LV played an active part in public discussion about the amendments in the Immigration Law caused by the war in Ukraine and gave 30+ comments to local & international media outlets regarding the difficulties of talent attraction to the Latvian startup ecosystem.
- We’ve submitted 6 new suggestions to the government on ways to improve startup law and Immigration Law, specifically in terms of attracting top talent and making it easier to do business.
- We held 10 events, which were attended by more than 1190 people in total (on site and online), from educational seminars to already legendary At-Home Meetups hosted by Startin.LV partners and friends of the startup ecosystem.
- However, Startup Day 2022 was by far the most memorable event of the local tech crowd, with 165 attendees on-site and 400+ viewers online. - Our team has delivered 260 consultations, sharing expertise and practical knowledge in startup-related topics, including startup law, startup visa, business development, marketing, and others.
- With 1,355 new followers across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter to date, Startin.LV social network community unites whopping 8,924 followers in total!
- In 2022, our creative copywriters cranked out 32 blogs (counting in this one) + 12 Monthly Newsletters, including some seriously captivating stories from Whimsical, Sonarworks, and Ecommpay. If you missed out, check them out in the same Medium blog you are reading now.
- As a grand finale of this year, we presented Latvian Startup Report 2022 — a stats-filled overview, showcasing the local tech scene for the past year and beyond. - None of this growth would have been possible without a seriously kick-ass board behind, us and 4 dedicated team members (this is a record number of team members since the association was founded back in 2016!) who always make sure each and every one of our members is taken care of.
