Ulex: How You Helped Create Non-Governmental Law
Your support was instrumental in the creation of Ulex: an open-source legal system that gives access to justice to all those underserved. It’s hard to overstate how much the creation of a non-governmental legal system will mean for the future of startup societies.
For those who care about how their donations are contributing to more ethical and expedient governance worldwide, as well as how this project is advancing, we have a few short points:
Funds & Budget
The goal for the Ulex crowdfund was $50,000. This goal was almost met, with $23,000 being raised by 38 backers. The breakdown of funds is as follows:
Outreach
Reaching more users, contributors, advisers and developers is an essential part of making Ulex a tool that changes people’s lives for the better.
Social Media
A concentrated following has brought Ulex as far as it’s come. Those who support the idea of open-source law deserve the latest updates regarding Ulex, as well as the technology and regulation surrounding it!
Development
The Ulex infrastructure allows for various forks and versions, and as such it is being developed as an open-source project on GitHub. Most of the funds raised by the Ulex crowdfunding will fund the bounty incentives for contributions to the Ulex kernel.
Research
Ulex’s research will focus on creating papers in fields such as jurisdictional recognition, governance technology adoption, game theory in digital ecosystems, and other fields relevant to the development of quality dispute resolution and governance.
Advisory Board
The Ulex advisory board will consist of those experts who’ve shown the most initiative in advancing the project — these are seasoned entrepreneurs and businesspersons with an interest in the ICG mission. They are:
Dr. Titus Gebel is a German entrepreneur with a PhD in law. He founded Deutsche Rohstoff AG and now lives with his family in Monaco. After 30 years of political activity, he realised that freedom cannot be achieved in the democratic process. His solution: create an entirely new product that will work as a role model in case of success. His book on Private Cities is a philosophical tour-de-force on the subject of governance.
James is a co-founder of Social Evolution, a non-profit media organization dedicated to liberating people and solving social problems through innovation. He is also involvedwith Evolving Caravan, an ever changing fellowship of seekers traveling the world mapping the nodes of the Silk Road of human evolution.
Michael’s mission is to build permanent ocean communities for the masses, using modular structures designed to make ocean living safe, comfortable, and affordable.
He’s building new types of floating-structures capable of flourishing at sea permanently, to organize them into floating communities and ultimately into independent cities in international waters.
Matt is former cofounder and Chief Decentralization Officer at D10E, the world’s leading conference on decentralized technologies, philosophies and social organization. He serves as an advisor to Network Society Labs, Humaniq, Securrency, and Loci and has been involved in several early-stage blockchain startups, including Ubiquity, Trive.news, and TheSunExchange.
Joel Bomgar founded Bomgar Corporation in 2003 while studying at Belhaven University and working as a systems engineer.
As state representative, Joel continues to serve the interests of Madison and Ridgeland in the 58th congressional district, Mississippi.
