How love f*cked my career

Tiffany Sun As soon as I saw this story title, a flurry of emotions ran through me. I couldn’t wait to read on.

I chose love over my career too. Upon graduation, I had a job offer from a media company where I could have been creating digital ad campaigns for Taylor Swift and other worldwide musicians. My fiancé proposed 2 days before I got the offer, and another year of long distance was out of the question.

So, two months later I moved to Charleston, SC, and started the hunt for my first big girl job.

With NO family. NO friends. & NO network here to help me in the process.

I too, was certain I had just ruined my career. I was supposed to end up on Madison Avenue right? Creating media campaigns for multi-million dollar brands. Right? That’s what they told me.

Little did I know, it was the best decision I could have made. My fiancé led me to one of the fastest growing startup scenes and friendliest cities in the country — Silicon Harbor.

Just like you, I was exposed to the startup world and found a new me. Then, &Me was born.

Although we have different stories, I can relate to yours and I’m inspired. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Look where your decision to follow love has led you to now.

Also, I totally support your decision to make Rabbut your priority. My biggest challenge is balancing my priorities — my relationship and my startup.

Thank you for sharing. I look forward to reading more from you!
