Pop Ups and Food Trucks Made Easy
Startup Founders of the Day — Ep. 16
Meet the founders building a marketplace to find and book pop ups and food trucks
Today’s Startup Founders of the Day are Queenie Peng and Ian Heraty, Co-Founders of Popping Live
Queenie and Ian have been working together on different technology projects since 2013. In 2020 they developed a zero waste solution for single-use plastic bags used at Chicago area South Loop Market and Park to Shop stores. This lead to the creation of Big Green Company, a directory for shoppers to discover where to shop for zero waste products.
One of the users of Big Green Company, Ray, messaged Queenie and Ian about her problem: She ran a mobile van for refilling soap and cleaning supplies that didn’t fit into the one address, zero waste list structure of Big Green Company. A desire to solve her problem led to the creation of Popping Live.
About Popping Live
Popping Live is a marketplace to find and book all your pop up and food truck needs. Instead of calling around, simply post your event on Popping Live. From there, pop ups and food trucks can apply to be hosted at your location.
Today, Popping Live hosts a group of pop up vendors and food trucks in the Chicago area. They also work with park districts, cities, breweries, festivals and communities to help them book pop ups and food trucks.
How You Can Help
Sign up as a host or vendor. If you or someone you know hosts or operates food trucks and pop ups in the Chicago area, head over to the Popping Live website to register.
