A Realistic Guide To Succeeding On Medium
It seems like every time I log on to Medium I’m met with 10 articles with titles like,
“How I made 10k this month!”
“I’m living my dream making 6 figures writing on Medium!”
“I quit my 9–5 and have never been happier!”
Everyone appears to be rolling in Medium riches while I tediously type away hoping to break that ever-so-elusive 3 figure paycheck. The title of this article is a little facetious, I have been making more than 30 cents a month writing on Medium, but for the first 3 months, I averaged a couple dollars a month.
At first my growth was somewhat steady which was encouraging. But in my 4th month my earnings dipped to a paltry 75 cents. To say I was discouraged was an understatement. At that point I had published 51 articles behind the Medium paywall which equated to a whopping 17 cents an article.
