On July 23, Established presented a Startup of the Year Pitch Competition honoring U.S. Veteran Founders. Sponsored by .US, a top level domain, web builder, and Official United States Country Code, this online event highlighted five Veteran-led early-stage startups and their innovations.

Each of the participating startups received special pitch coaching with Jen Consalvo (Co-CEO, Established) and Lori Thiel (VP, Programs, Established) — and it paid off! More than 200 attendees joined the livestream event on Established’s YouTube channel to watch the five startups compete for the golden microphone trophy and a fast-track spot as a Top 100 Semifinalist at the Startup of the Year 8th Annual Summit (online on November 9 — November 10).

At the end of the virtual pitch competition, TruGenomix (Rockville, MD), was announced as the winner for their patented genomic biomarker assay that provides an objective assessment of patient risk for developing PTSD.

“TruGenomix (@trugenomixinc) is honored to have won the Startup of the Year Online Pitch Event honoring Veteran-led companies where we received the fast-track award as an automatic Top 100 Semifinalist spot at the 8th Annual Startup of the Year Summit this fall. We are proud to represent U.S. Veteran entrepreneurs, and are humbled to win, considering the talent of the competing veteran-founded companies (GovLia, Milk Money Kitchens, TargetArm, and TCare). TruGenomix looks forward to the great things ahead.” — Charles Cathlin, Co-Founder

TCARE (St.Louis, MO) won the People’s Choice Award by receiving the most online votes for their evidence-based, CMW 115-approved, ACL-accredited solution to prevent caregiver burnout.

The remaining competitors are still in the running to become one of the Top 100 at Summit this fall — GovLia (Fort Lauderdale, FL); Milk Money Kitchens (New York, NY); and Target Arm (Ridgefield, CT). Thank you to these Veteran-led startups — for their service and for their innovations.
