The Statue of Unity respects Vallabhbhai Patel, an important leader in India’s independence movement and the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and of the Home Ministry. Statue of Unity, which was inaugurated by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Patel is highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India to form the single Union of India. The statue is located in Gujarat on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam 100 kilometers (62 mi) southeast of the city of Vadodara.
Project Statue Of Unity
Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a well-known Indian construction company was tasked with carrying out the Statue of Unity project. L&T built the structure with the assistance of a team of engineers, architects, and laborers. On the occasion of Patel’s birth anniversary, construction work began on October 31, 2013.It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar and was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on 31 October 2018, the 143rd anniversary of Patel’s birth.

Patel’s use of iron represents his power, tenacity, and steadfast dedication to national unity.The Statue of Unity Movement was founded in 2013 to gather the iron required for the statue by inviting farmers to donate their used farming equipment.At 182 meters (597 feet), the Statue of Unity is the world’s highest statue. It is 54 meters (177 feet) higher than the previous record holder, the Spring Temple Buddha in Henan Province, China.
