The Joyless World of Data-Driven Startups
Dan Zambonini

Some good points but as a start up that is heavily data intensive (see our demo at, we’ve found ways to make it exciting. Our HR solution uses artificial intelligence to find patterns in data stemming from a company’s network activity and displaying it in visually appealing ways. We have to say that there is quite a bit of potential in the space in regards to extracting inferences about company productivity/cross-departmental communication difficulties or even if an employee is stealing from the company. Better yet, you could even make data-driven behavioural profiles which could have huge implications in terms of human psychology in the workplace. Might not be a matter of data lacking imagination but rather people!
