On Not Becoming an Expert

Yes! x 1000. Well said and well written. I recently read this short essay by G.K.Chesterton on the fallacy of success. He wrote this in 1909 — it is incredible how true it rings to this day. One of my favorite quotes is “knowing is the enemy of learning” — what we are creating is an incentive structure where young men and women are starting early and working hard at slowing down their learning.

It gets tiresome if life is focused on constant optimizations by looking for short cuts. Working on meaningful visions that mature over time seems to be the answer for me :-)
