The 7-foot-4 Frenchman finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block in 23 minutes, and he even flashed his otherworldly skill with a Euro-step dunk from the free throw line.
Wembanyama was slowed by foul trouble in the first three quarters, but he came alive in the fourth, scoring 9 points and electrifying the crowd with his playmaking.
His debut was so impressive that it had even Luka Doncic marveling.
“He’s going to be amazing, he already is,” Doncic said. “The size obviously (stands out), like everybody talks. The way he moves for (7-foot-3), he moves incredible. He moves like a point guard almost. It’s pretty amazing to see.”
