Challenge:

Major issue that hinders the growth of economy is Energy crises. Crises such as electricity shortage directly affect the performance of Pakistani industries. Electric load shedding hampers there production. Another issue related to the energy crises is cost of energy being provided which is very high. As markets in the world are very competitive, this adversely affects our position.

Solution:

Government should look for ways to increase the power generation capacity of the country. Electricity can be generated through renewable and non- renewable resources. Current government is generating electricity mostly through furnace oil which also is expensive. Focus should be more generation through coal, wind, solar, gas, hydro and nuclear which are cheaper ways in the long run compare to furnace oil.

Incentive should be given to motivate private industry to invest in power generation projects which will increase the capacity of country.

Awareness should be made in public to save electricity. Government can subsidies the solar circuit so that more and more households can generate and use their own electricity which will decrease the overall consumption.
