It is all true. But. There is always a but. 
I am not sure if it was ‘we’ who devalued creative products. In a way, that maybe that ‘we’ wasn’t such an active doer in this case. What I mean is, that once the internet came to life, things happen. One thing leads to another. The way you write it, it puts the consumer in a position that is more conscious, than how things did happen actually, in my opinion. 
The difference is, what and who we blame. Is devaluation a consequence of technological development or the doing of the people?
