A laser tube cutter is technologically advanced machinery specially designed to accurately mark, shape, or cut different types of pipes and tubing. Laser technology is creatively, accurately, and finely used through various materials, including metals, selective composites, and plastic.

Let us understand the general working of a laser tube cutting machine:

Material Loading:

The procedure begins with loading the pipe or tube-shaped material into the machine. Depending on production requirements and the efficiency and capability of the machine, you can load the material manually or automatically. Manual loading is ideal if you want to supervise and control the production of the product at each step of the way. Automatic loading in an automated material handling system improves the production rate dramatically because loading is done automatically.

Material Alignment:

It is imperative to load the metal correctly, as proper alignment matters. After the material is loaded, the position has to be meticulously arranged and the material precisely aligned on the loading tray inside the machine to be cut and shaped into the desired design. This is the only way to get consistent and accurate tube or pipe pieces.

Laser Beam source:

The laser tube cutter is the source of the laser beam and emits either:

  1. Concentrated CO2 fiber laser
  2. High-powered Fiber laser ray

A focussed laser beam from a laser source:

The fiber laser machine throws a focused, concentrated, and High-intensity beam of light energy onto the material that has to be cut and shaped. The heart is the laser source that generates the fast, high-powered, and high-intensity rays of CO2 or fiber laser light energy.

The laser beam focuses directly on the pipe or tubular surface with the help of a series of minuscule lenses and mirrors. This powerful energy beam falls at a specific point and is enough to cut through the material. Furthermore, they add to the accuracy and precision of the finished work pieces and shape them perfectly, so why not request a quote from the best suppliers?

Pre-programmed path:

A computerized numerical control system, or the CNC system, controls the high-precision output of the laser beam. The concentrated light ray follows a pre-determined programmed cutting path. The high heat melts and vaporises the material it focuses on, and the combination of gases, such as nitrogen, oxygen, etc, blows off the remaining molten debris and waste.

The gas combination or assist gases used for the process are selected according to the quality of the cut and the material. The tube or pipe can be shaped according to preferred dimensions with high-temperature cut kerf, called “burning off” or “melting.”

Once the laser ray is topped, the edges of the cut pipe and tube solidify after cooling. There is minimum damage and distortion, and heat-affected zones are minimal. When the volumes are high, automated material handling helps quickly take the material to the tray and unload the cut pieces.

The laser tube cutting with the help of the latest and advanced laser tube cutters is processed with superb adjustments and fantastic quality control, thus making them an asset for the manufacturing industry.
