How to build V8 on Windows and not go mad
Maxim NgWizard K

because it wasn’t trivial to rapidly look up at a glance, and “v8” is a horrible horrible name to try to google a specific reference to(right up there with phoenix on the list of bad overcrowded overused naming).. also because finding the correct link to the git for the thing, instead of say, to the git home or dl page is rough(only present in the “link to instructions to build v8” link, never noted elsewhere).

What is V8?

V8 is Google’s open source high-performance JavaScript engine, written in C++ and used in Google Chrome, the open source browser from Google. It implements ECMAScript as specified in ECMA-262, and runs on Windows 7 or later, Mac OS X 10.5+, and Linux systems that use IA-32, ARM or MIPS processors. V8 can run standalone, or can be embedded into any C++ application.
