I’m sorry I have to say that, but just too many Americans are used to BELIEVE things rather than actually think about and analyze them. People are used to jumping onto bandwagons pulled by someone they believe to be authoritative, usually someone very loud or someone perceived as important. If a seemingly wildly independent liberal big shot like, say, Paul Krugman supports the Russia Gate narrative, it must be true, right? Meanwhile people like him, too, fell for those same mechanisms. A back propagating self enhancing narrative, a perpetuum mobile of false faith. I’m afraid the Russia story will not help the Democrats to leverage Trump out of office. En contraire. Holding on to claims that do not even make much sense, logically, damages them big time — possibly for years to come. My 2 cents from the other side of the Atlantic.
