It’s Official: Nvidia Tegra X1 Chip With Maxwell GPU At CES 2015

This might be a post for the nerds, but the effects in the coming months and years could be vast. Finally, NVIDIA has engineered a way to bring its Maxwell-class GPUs to mobile, in the form of the Tegra X1 system-on-a-chip. Using a 64-bit octa-core ARM-based processor, X1 will feature a 256-core Maxwell GPU, while also being more enrgy efficient.

In other words, serious graphical and processing power that can put the Tegra X1 on the level of gaming consoles; better than the previous Tegra K1 used in the Google Nexus 9 tablet and Nvidia’s own Shield tablet, as well as several Chromebooks.
