The Island of the Dolls (La Isla de las Muñecas) is a chinampa in Laguna de Tequila situated in the Xochimilco Waterways, south of downtown Mexico City, Mexico. It is a well known vacation spot because of the dolls of various styles and varieties tracked down all around the island. They were initially positioned by the previous proprietor of the island, Julián Santana Barrera, who passed on from a cardiovascular failure in 2001. He accepted the dolls helped drive away the soul of a young lady who suffocated quite a while back. The Island of the Dolls, initially claimed by Wear Julián Santana Barrera, is loaded up with dolls dangling from trees and structures canvassed in spider webs and bugs. The spot was named during the 1950s when dolls began showing up haphazardly on the island. Santana was a neighbor of the Barrio de la Asunción, where he used to drink pulque subsequent to selling his vegetables, until he began teaching the Good book in light of odd notions, which made him be removed from the area.
As per a legend, a young lady suffocated tangled in the lilies of the waterway and her body was found on the bank of the Santampa chinampas. Santana professed to have heard the young lady shout “I need my doll” and with sickening dread she hung the doll she viewed as close to the young lady’s body.
