Sturdza Castle in Miclăușeni, also known as Sturdza Palace, is a neo-Gothic style structure built between 1880 and 1904 by Gheorghe Sturdza and his wife Maria. Iași. The neo-Gothic castle was completed in 1904.The name Miclăușeni comes from the name of a boyar, Miclăuș, who received from Alexandru cel Bun, the lord of Moldavia between 1400 and 1432, an estate in this place. In 1591, the descendants of the boyar Miclăuș sold the estate to the treasurer Simion Stroici. At the beginning of the 17th century, Stroici built a mansion here, the ruins of which can still be seen at the beginning of the 20th century.The mansion was inherited by the Sturdza brothers in the 17th century.
