Albrecht Dürer was a painter and printer who lived from May 21, 1471, in Nuremberg Imperial City [Germany], to April 6, 1528, in Nuremberg. He is often recognized as the greatest German Renaissance artist. Altars and religious works, as well as portraits and self-portraits and copper engravings, are among his many works. His woodcuts, like the Apocalypse series (1498), have a Gothic tone to them that the rest of his work does not.

Albrecht Dürer is widely considered as the best German Renaissance painter, printer, and writer. His paintings and engravings demonstrate the Renaissance’s efforts to precisely reflect the bodies of humans and animals, as well as the Nordic attention in minutiae.
