Electoral-representative democracy is dead, everyone knows that. And that’s true in America as well as in Europe, it’s just dying in a slightly more dramatic fashion in the U.S. of A.

While I mostly agree with Evan Belosa’s analysis of how unleashed capitalism re-formed the American society, that’s only one reason why support for democracy is dwindling, and in my opinion not even the most important one.

The people are locked between super-capitalism on one side and an electoral aristocracy on the other side. One side exploits them for obvious reasons (greed), the other side lies to them and betrays them, for a multitude of reasons (with a focus on remaining in power). Good luck choosing “the right side”!
