Why Switzerland is the Happiest Country in the World
Jillian Richardson

I lived in Switzerland for six years and never stopped feeling like an outsider, even though I am white and German (Visually, I could be mistaken for a Swiss person). Switzerland is a wonderful place for the Swiss, but really harsh if you are a foreigner. It’s a very closed country that does not welcome “others”.
On the other side, I have always felt welcome in the US, where I have been living for 20 years after leaving Switzerland.
