In today’s toxic world, detoxifying the body has never been more important.
Whether we want to believe it or not, we are exposed to an onslaught of chemicals on a daily basis.
The average person is exposed to more than 2,000 chemicals before he or she leaves the house in the morning. Scary, right? Not surprisingly, this is the source of many people’s health issues.
Alison Rose Levy said it best, “In minds crammed with thoughts, organs clogged with toxins, and bodies stiffened with neglect, there is no space for anything else.”
Despite this reality, when people hear the word “detox” it brings up a lot of fear. Oftentimes, people don’t even know what detoxing involves or how to even start.
If you’ve never done a detox before, you might be wincing at the thought of it. I’ll feel horrible…It will affect my word…I won’t have the energy to work…I’ll starve.
There are a million and one excuses to not detox. However, many people have no idea how good their bodies are designed to feel, and that’s what a detox can offer.

In today’s world, detoxifying the body has become the new rage. If you walk into any health food store you will be hit with shelves of foods, drinks and supplements that promote healthy living.
The human body is like a high-performance race car. Similar to a Ferrari. Would you put high-quality, expensive fuel into a Ferrari or the cheap stuff that is going to make it break down sooner?
I believe that we need to treat our bodies like we would a Ferrari.
So…why should we detox?
The benefits of detoxifying the body are far reaching, some of which include improved digestion and immunity, reduced inflammation, stabilized blood sugar, increased circulation, balanced hormones, and clearer skin.
This is your golden opportunity to give your body the much-needed break that it craves. If not, you are just running on empty. Why not hit the reset button and feel like a new version of yourself?
We all fall off the health wagon now and then. We have a bad day, and instead of doing something that will make our bodies feel good, we self-sabotage by eating junk food.

People often associate detoxing with the physical body. However, it goes deeper than that. Oftentimes the foods that we eat are tied to our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.
When we detox, we cleanse ourselves of all of the stuff that doesn’t serve our higher self.
Eliminate anything that doesn’t help you live at your highest vibration.
In the words of Budda, “To keep the body in good health is a duty…otherwise, we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.”
In my 20s, I started detoxing and that’s when I learned how powerful it could be. At the onset, detoxing the body of toxins can be a difficult process to go through. However, the rewards are worth it.
Here are 3 signs that your body is screaming for a detox.
1. You lack mental clarity
Have you ever experienced brain fog, where you can’t concentrate and you just feel confused?
Toxins in the brain can actually affect one’s memory and ability to think clearly.
Studies show that detoxifying your body can sharpen your mind. By clearing the body of toxins, your brain has more energy to operate at an optimal level of functioning. The result? You will feel more clear, calm and productive.
2. You feel emotionally unstable
Research shows that depression, anxiety, and even some eating disorders have been linked to an abundance of certain toxic chemicals, in particular, heavy metal toxicity.
When there is an imbalance in the body of any kind, it can have negative psychological and emotional effects on a person.
If you feel emotionally unstable, take a look at your diet and see if there is a connection between what you are eating and how you are feeling.
3. Your digestion is a mess
Did you know that more than 100 million Americans have digestive problems? That’s a serious problem.
If you are experiencing bloating, gas, or constipation after every meal, it’s time for a detox. When large amounts of toxins are present in the body, the gut becomes inflamed.
What a lot of people don’t realize is that bigger health issues, like arthritis, are actually caused by gut problems. If you can heal your gut, you can heal your body.
As Jim Rohn once said, “Take care of your body. It’s the only place that you have to live.”
