Imagine sailing a ship blindfolded. Sounds risky, right? Well, this is the approach that a lot of entrepreneurs take when they first start their online business journey.

If you want to succeed as an entrepreneur, you need to be a rock in a storm. That’s a lot of weight to bare. Why do it alone?

Yes, you need to be the face of your business, but you also need an anchor to help you get grounded when you get off course.

Effectively navigating your way through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship will be a lot easier if you hire a business coach.

A business coach is what allowed me to take my business to the next level. Without that support, feedback, and motivation, I wouldn’t have been able to leverage my success as fast as I have been able to.

In the words of Tom Landry, “A coach is someone who tells you what you don’t want to hear, who has you see what you don’t want to see so that you can be who you have always known you could be.”

You can’t do it all. Nobody can.

If this is true, then why do so many entrepreneurs not seek out help?

For fear that they will appear stupid. Their ego takes over and it’s game over.

The three most dangerous words in the human vocabulary that hold people back from success are, “I know that.”

Don’t fall into this trap. If you do, your business is going to sink…fast.

I know what you are thinking…nobody knows your business better than you, BUT, the most successful entrepreneurs are resourceful.

My belief is that you don’t actually know something until you are living it in your business. A successful entrepreneur knows that, in order for their business to grow and reach its full potential, they need help.

When they don’t know how to do something, they find someone who does.

That’s not stupid. That is smart.

One person isn’t responsible for building an empire. Do you think that Bill Gates got to where he is today because he did it all on his own? Hell no.

A business coach is someone who can help you weather the ever-changing conditions that the business world brings.

When it comes to running an online business, chances are that you don’t have all of the answers. That is humanly impossible. For the sake of your business and your sanity don’t be afraid to ask for help.

If you still aren’t sold on this idea, let’s explore 3 signs that you need a business coach.

1. You Are Overwhelmed

Do you ever feel like there’s not enough time in the day to accomplish everything, which results in a feeling of overwhelm?

If so, you aren’t alone. This is a common complaint of almost every entrepreneur.

A YouGov poll for The Huffington Post revealed that a whopping 58% of workers feel at least sometimes overwhelmed by their work.

Building a startup requires non-stop work. If you quit your 9–5 to become an entrepreneur, with the assumption that you would be working less, you were wrong.

This is why a business coach is so important. You need someone in your corner that can help you effectively manage your time and prioritize all of your tasks.

Business coaching is not only helpful. It is imperative to your success.

2. You Aren’t Moving Forward

When we are stuck in a rut, we can’t move forward. Businesses that don’t move forward, inevitably fail.

A good business coach knows how to get you unstuck and back on the fast track to success so that you can take your business to the next level.

Bob Nardelli, the CEO of Home Depot said it best, “I absolutely believe that people, unless coached, never reach their maximum capabilities.”

If you have an idea of where you want to be, but you have no idea how to get there, a business coach will create a roadmap that will give you a sense of direction.

They are there to help you navigate the stormy waters, reminding you of your “why” and the vision behind your business.

3. You Can’t Hold Yourself Accountable

A solid business coach will hold you accountable for achieving your business goals. He/she will act as your cheerleader, pushing you to keep moving forward, when you feel like giving up.

According to research, the two factors that effectively help people achieve the behavior change they desire are incentives and accountability.

It’s easy to let ourselves down. However, it’s a horrible feeling knowing that you haven’t kept your word to someone else, especially when they are investing time and effort into your success.

If you find that you’ve got a lot of excuses for why you can’t accomplish something, a business coach will help to keep you on track and provide strategies for how you can reframe your attitude.

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” — Thomas Jefferson

Business coaching is the best-kept secret of successful entrepreneurs.

Hiring a business coach is NOT a sign of weakness. Rather, it’s a sign of success.

If the most successful entrepreneurs and elite performers of the world can invest in a business coach, then why can’t you?
