Get Rich Quick: The Mindset That Makes You Poor
If you have been listening to get-rich-quick schemes, stop right now. I am here to save you a lot of time, energy and money.
You can’t expect to achieve financial freedom overnight. This is the mindset that will make you poor, fast.
Sure, some people achieve wealth overnight. Like the Norwegian guy who bought $27 worth of bitcoin, forgot about it, and found out that it is now worth $886K. That’s called luck, and in the business world, it’s a rarity.
Instead of focusing on getting rich, try getting rich slow. Are you still with me?

Of course you want to get rich quickly. Who doesn’t? This message is designed to excite you. Nobody wants to take the slow and difficult route. That sounds awful. However, it doesn’t have to be. It’s a mindset choice. Let me explain…
Do you think that self-made billionaires, like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, achieved long-term wealth overnight? Absolutely not. These people invested years of hard work, sacrifice, time, energy and patience into building their dream.
They chose the road less traveled.
The one that is tough, long and arduous. As a result, their success reached levels that others only dream of. Success is a slow climb, but the view from the top is worth it. If you are constantly looking for ways to fast-track the process, you will never make it.
As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “You can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.”
In his book, How Rich People Think self-made millionaire Steve Siebold says that “The world-class sees money for what it is and what it’s not, through the eyes of logic. The great ones know that money is a critical tool that presents options and opportunities.”
Wealth is a choice.
If you want to make money, you need to start by learning how to delay instant gratification. I believe that this is one of the most important traits that you can master.
Dabblers really struggle with this. They thrive on short-term pleasure. They are pros at starting things but never finishing them. As soon as life gets tough, they bail. They strive for the dream of making “free money.” You cannot expect to do the bare minimum in terms of work, and still expect that your bank account will grow exponentially.
Nobody goes from broke to millionaire overnight.
In the words of Dr. Steve Maraboli, “Get-rich-quick schemes are for the lazy and unambitious. Respect your dreams enough to pay the full price for them.”
Unfortunately, too many people fall into the dabbler trap. As you can imagine, these people do no achieve much success in life. They are constantly looking for the next best get-rich-quick idea. As you can imagine, they get lost in a never-ending cycle of pain and suffering.
Are you a dabbler?
The most successful people in this world are masters, meaning that they are willing to do anything and everything to achieve their dreams. They are money-conscious, rather than money-driven. They know that the only way to make real money is to work for it… for as long as it takes.
Dabbling isn’t part of their vocabulary.
When it comes to their goals, they commit to them 100%. They choose a path, build a solid foundation, and stick with it until they have achieved success. Not surprisingly, these people get massive results. If you are serious about success, you need to know that it’s a long-term game.
Napoleon Hill said, “The ladder of success is never crowded at the top.”
Getting rich quick is the mindset that will make you poor.
I’m not saying that making money isn’t great, but you won’t make any of it if you keep looking for the easy way out. I encourage you to get rich slow. This is the secret to achieving true wealth.
Are you in it for the long-term? If so, there is no better time than now to start climbing.
