Sanders-Warren 2016–2020

According to the latest polls, Bernie is the strongest Democratic candidate in the general election, defeating both Donald Trump and Ted Cruz in hypothetical matchups. (The latest RealClear Politics averages of all polls shows Bernie beating Trump by a larger margin than Hillary beats Trump, and Bernie beating Cruz while Hillary loses to Cruz.)

Following the petrodollar strategy of Nixon and Kissinger in response to French attacks — “The international monetary system is functioning poorly because it gives advantages to the country issuing the reserve currency. Such a country can have inflation by making others pay for it.” (George Pompidou, French prime minister, 1971) — the Bretton Woods global monetary order has come unstuck.

Now American fortunes are tied to those of the Saudi royal family, something that is terribly unhealthy for both sides, in the medium to long term.

However, I am under the impression that we are now seeing a strong patriotic push for Washington to drop both the Saudi and Israeli hawks.

I would not be surprised to see these “patriots” backing Bernie Sanders’ presidential candidacy (e.g. Democratic superdelegates shifting allegiances from Clinton to Sanders), once reality hits home (Global clouds starting to pour on the U.S. economy, CBS, 22 Feb. 2016) .

Sanders has three advantages: he is against bankers’ hubris, he demands a quick and serious American disengagement from the Middle East, he would be the first Jewish U.S. president.

If I were a member of a faction seeking to put the US back on track, I would use a Sanders mandate to put a stop to the most outrageous practices of bankers and Israeli/Saudi lobbyists, to avoid a Middle Eastern conflagration, and to neutralize the potential for internal strife due to massive private debt, under the “We are the 99 percent” slogan.

Paradoxically, the “insurrectionist” Sanders might be more useful to the establishment than one could expect.
What a major reputation boost for the USA it would be, after the first black president, to elect the first Jewish, “socialist” president, perhaps assisted by a vice president like Elizabeth Warren:
Elizabeth Warren is a very good friend of mine, I have known here for a long time, before she was in the Senate.
She is a great US Senator.
She has stood up to Wall Street.
She has stood up to the Big Money interests.
So, she uh, she and I will work together

Sanders-Warren would be influential in shaping a new global Zeitgeist and instrumental in defeating the neocons once and for all, without upsetting the cart.
