Around 5 years ago, we packed our bags from San Francisco, and moved sight unseen in a small town close to Trento, Italy —and obviously, our life changed completely.

We’re now fully immersed in nature every single day, are on the lake every day in summer, have great healthcare, ski quite often, our kids go to awesome schools, and we are all generally waaay less stressed.

The town is also super beautiful, everything is walkable, super clean and generally extremely pleasant.

For all of the awesome things that this place has given us, one has been missing: a community of like-minded people to enjoy.

We started by creating Unplug, a series of events in the mountains where we brought together large groups of investors and entrepreneurs to spend time in nature, and actually connect with each other — this has resulted in an unpredictably large amount of connections: hiring, investing, advising, acquiring, etc.

A lot of Unpluggers asked us about life here, and commented on how beautiful this place was.

On top of that, after chatting with many people that decided post-covid to move to more natural settings and leave the cities behind, we’ve noticed they all had the same problem: it’s hard to connect with the local community, and it takes a lot of time.

We’ve also heard so many people say things like: “oh that’s awesome, but moving is too much of a hassle, maybe in a few years” and similar comments.

So, it seemed clear there was an opportunity to put together a simple program to solve both our problem, and give a nudge to who’s just about to commit to move and is looking for places.

Unveiling Trento Remote

Trento Remote is a curated, all-in-one program for remote living.

  • Housing: ✅
  • Coworking space: ✅
  • Organized activities: ✅
  • Immersed in nature all day:✅
  • Logistical and fiscal support: ✅
  • Social circle of like-minded people: ✅

For this, we’re getting a whole building of brand-new Renzo Piano-designed apartments in the newest neighborhood of town, and have a partnership with two co-working spaces.

We hope some of the participants will like it so much, they’ll make this their new home-base, but we’re also very happy to host people that just want to spend a few months or years in a different setting while recharging their batteries.

The aim is also to interact and mix with the local community, bringing something new from different places while learning the secrets of the locals in terms of slow and mountain living.

We’ve committed to make this place our long-term home, and hope we’re going to be able to convince quite a few more people to do the same!
