Floodgate: On the Hunt for Thunder Lizards
Recently I discovered that my post on OKRs for Product Managers ranks on the first page of google and with the blogpost on Product Management OKRs not far of. So I decided I will write a bit more.
The following are my thought on the the HBR essay Floodgate: On the Hunt for Thunder Lizards. Floodgate is on of the most impressive venture capital firms by their branding and investing (Xamarin, Intuit and many more) they have done in the last years

Good note note thought that Mike Maples, one of the founders, initially failed to get a job in venture quite. Quite a funny story on how he cold called Sequoia Capital to get a job and how difficult it was for him to get into venture capital. There is also a very fun interview with Ann Miura-Ko who founded Floodgate together with Mike Maples: https://tim.blog/2018/08/02/ann-miura-ko/ that interview brought me to this case study.
Now, I have started reading the case study. It is actually very interesting to read if you are interested in venture capital structures. But, difficult to write about. So I will let this post be up and see if there is any search traffic. But I wont write about the case study but just recommend that you read it yourself :) have a great weekend!
