Thank you Ali for sharing such a raw, beautiful and painful account of your Naani and yourself. Grief is indeed a tangible, moving being that brings about many emotions for us. We should all be so fortunate to have someone like Naani in our lives.
One other thought is that many of us “Americans” do not feel that Islam in any way represents “terror” or “badness” and it is unfortunate many in our country do not understand or do not care to understand the history of religious persecution. It might behoove them to do a little research and educate themselves on how that has worked out historically. I won’t hold my breath though.
