We met outside in the warm sunshine

Watching the sunset, drinking some wine

Among many friends we sat and we talked

Sometimes on the sand we stood and we walked

Our journey began with slight notes of sad

As Sam our sweet dog visited death’s myriad

Your kindness and love so gentle and pure

Became so comforting of this you ensured

We’ve been through a lot in just a few years

With Sam, MAK and Molly shared too many tears

I wish I could tell you how special you are

My friend who is here as fixed as a star.
