Is John Cena still a great wrestler? Will he get a championship belt?

John Anthony Cena is one of the greatest wrestlers that WWE has the honor to have. He has given us so many great moments, which made us to believe in him and his message “never give up”. He has built a great career and he is the face of WWE Smackdown. Throughout his WWE career, Cena has won 25 championships, with 16 reigns as a world champion (13 times as WWE Champion and three times as WWE’s World Heavyweight Champion), an accomplishment only previously achieved by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. He is also a five-time United States Champion and a four-time world tag team champion (two World Tag Team and two WWE Tag Team). Furthermore, he is a Money in the Bank ladder match winner (2012), a two-time Royal Rumble winner (2008, 2013), and a three-time Superstar of the Year Slammy Award winner (2009, 2010, 2012). Cena has the fourth-highest number of combined days as WWE Champion, behind Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, and Hulk Hogan.

One of the greatest seasons for the WWE was when he had in front of him Dwayne The Rock Johnson, the obstacle that didn’t let him to achieve a lot of things, the guy who humiliated him with his great insulting words to judge Cena’s loyalty, respect, and his dressing style. WWE fans had a lot of fun these days, but even if the fans were in the side of The Rock, there were still people who loved John Cena and supported him and still do. Cena is a great actor-wrestler and as I mentioned before, he has accomplished a lot of things, but the question is: Is he still a great wrestler? I will respond to this question by saying: No. Why? Every year we observe that the level of competitiveness of the WWE gets higher and higher. He can’t keep up with that, when you see him struggling to beat guys like Rusev (who was nothing before 2–3 years and now has become a good wrestler). Don’t fool ourselves, Cena isn’t that great as before, -when you put him in a match with guys like AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, it’s difficult to say that he can beat any of them. All these guys have earned the admiration of the WWE Universe and that’s because of their toughness, their skill set, the fact that they win frequently and people know that they got a lot to offer in WWE. Cena isn’t too competitive and people doubt his capability of beating the new faces of WWE.

I have to admit that I still support him and I will never stop doing that. He is not only a wrestler, he is also the guy who represents the WWE in big events. I believe in him and hopefully he will get what he deserves as next week in Smackdown, when he will face Shinsuke Nakamura in a first-time-ever dream match, and the winner will face Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam!

Who will prevail in a match we never thought we’d see: Cena or Nakamura? We will find it out next week on SmackDown Live!!
