When I saw the Warren video I was disturbed. So I went and looked for the history, the same history you found. But there was no way to untangle the damage made by Moyers and Warren. It is a classic example of how bad information is used to demonize. The “critical thinking liberals/progressive” did not bother to check, or even read the counter arguments because two icons of virtues said it. So they abandon their thinking to the icons. The banality of evil is not limited to the right wing, the left wing is just as prone to falling into ignorant fanaticism.
