Keith Hussein is a member of South Shields CLP and vice-chair of Beacon & Bents Branch Labour Party. He is also currently seeking nominations to stand in the election for a BAME rep on the NEC.
But here is the issue. His Facebook page is full of posts promoting conspiracy theories about George Soros and repeated claims that Labour’s problems with antisemitism were cynically orchestrated by an ‘Israel lobby’ and exploited victims of the Holocaust. And that’s not it.
It appears that the Soros-related material, came from far-right websites that appeared to be advocating versions of the neo-Nazi ‘Great Replacement Theory’.
This is quite surprising and frankly disappointing, given Mr Hussein’s academic background. (PhD in international politics).
The prospect of someone with such readiness to believe the most far-fetched nonsense about Jews being elected to the party’s governing body is alarming and Mr Hussein should be suspended from the party and prevented to run for the BAME Rep on the NEC.
I understand that a complaint was sent to the Labour Party yesterday by some of Mr Hussein’s local party members, therefore I urge the Labour Party to deal with this complaint with the urgency that the situation requires.
Judging by his posts, Mr Hussein is unfit to join our NEC and should be suspended immediately.
For Mr Hussein, Ruth Smeeth was “not some innocent Jewish MP”.
Of course, Mr Hussein is a fan of Tony Greenstein.
Labour’s problems with antisemitism were cynically orchestrated by an ‘Israel lobby’ and exploited victims of the Holocaust.
For Mr Hussein, there can be just one reason why there is a conflict in Ukraine, the Jewish philanthropist George Soros is responsible.
But Mr Hussein also believes that the Jewish philanthropist is responsible for the migrant crisis in Syria and does not hesitate to share a neo-nazi blog called 21stcenturywire.com and ZeroHedge.com which appeared to be advocating versions of the neo-Nazi ‘Great Replacement Theory’.
Mr Hussein has developed over the time an obsession with Soros, the same kind of hatred that you will find on the far-right.
And of course, Mr Hussein has never seen any evidence of anti-Jewish racism in the labour party. I would suggest that he has a quick look at his own Facebook if he wants to see of such evidence.
But Mr Hussein isn’t just a labour party member, he is also a candidate for Labour BAME NEC Rep and he is gathering supports.
