#TheGreaterPurposeJourney — Ep5 — CRAZY ENOUGH!

The Greater Purpose Journey is the daily hustle of a young Mauritian entrepreneur.

Please note that this project will serve as documentation in the long run.

I want to see how i grow along the journey. I want to share this journey with you. One day this may become my legacy to the world!

Thursday 16th March

I question a lot of things on daily basis! Today my big questions is:

Why don’t we dare for more? Why do we settle for average?

Is it because we realise that it’s going to be difficult so we settle for average?

Is it because we think that we don’t deserve more?

I see a lot of talent here in Mauritius but very few come forward to express their talents.

This is why the same politicians get elected here in Mauritius.
They are the ones who are crazy enough to step up in front of cameras and tell us that they are going to improve our lives in 5 years.
They sell the VISION. We buy the VISION naively each time. Then we are disappointed because well, they didn’t deliver.
Deep within we knew that they wouldn’t be able to deliver. Right?
But what can we do about it?
Nothing. It is like this. We must accept it. Right?

This type of fatalistic mindset is the real problem.

The elite of this country are not in politics.

We don’t realise how POWERFUL we are as individuals and as a community- the Mauritian community.

Entrepreneurship is a journey

I was thinking about my brand. I was thinking about what sets me apart in my industry. I was thinking about my unique selling proposition.

Entrepreneurship is a journey where you learn to find yourself.

Entrepreneurship is a journey where you learn to listen to your gut feeling.

You make calculated choices but most of the time you listen to your gut feeling because it will help you to follow your dreams.

If you don’t love what you are doing as an entrepreneur, you cannot produce the right product/service and sell it to your employees and to your clients.

It won’t feel true and people can feel it.

I think that my biggest strength is that i massively care about other people. I want to help. I want to provide 10x value to my clients.

But i don’t care at all if i fail when i am looking to close deals. I don’t care what you may think about my failures.

It’s hard. It’s painful. But no one ever became great by choosing easy paths. The easy paths are just mirage.

The last meeting where i was told that i was not providing enough value was a game changer for me. It helped me to redefine my offers and solutions. The client sitting in front of me was helping me grow with this feedback. Even though i didn’t close the deal, i got home with a lot of information on how i can improve my pitch.

That’s it for today.

Don’t be afraid to dare more.

You are here to achieve great things.

See you tomorrow for #Ep6.

Your friend,

Stephane
