Hundreds gathered this past Saturday to honor expecting mother and teenage son killed during deadly police standoff.

Sandra White, 39, was due to deliver a baby she’d named Antonio later this month but on April 4, her boyfriend, Anthony Bailey, shot and killed her and her teen son, Arkeyvion White, inside their Henry County home, according to police. When police proceeded after a 16-hour standoff and two officers wounded, Bailey was then found dead from a self-inflicted gun-shot wound. ABC World News revealed the body cam footage from the scene.
According to the AJC.com Sandra White worked as a nurse at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center and was in school to become a nurse practitioner, says her family. Her son, was a sophomore at Dutchtown High School, where he was an honor student and played football.

On Saturday, news crews and loved ones gathered and the focus was on how the mother and son lived, celebrating their lives. As “A Song for Mama” played, the photos of Sandra and Arkeyvion White were shown to hundreds inside Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Atlanta Saturday afternoon.
The emotional joint-funeral service displayed three caskets, including a small casket for White’s unborn baby Antonio, adorned with flowers inside. Many in the community came together to honor White and her children. Friends, family, and even some who didn’t know the family came in support. Among the attendees were members of Sandra White’s Eastern Star chapter and representatives from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence with t-shirts that read “Take Your Power Back” on the back, a message against domestic violence. Arkeyvion White’s high school also showed their support. Speakers included Dutchtown principal Nicole Shaw and White’s football coach. Team members wearing Dutchtown jerseys also attended the funeral, along with several players from Henry County High School.
“He was a good person and a good student-athlete,” Dutchtown Principal Nicole Shaw said Saturday.
“But there was nothing gentle about Arkeyvion on the football field,” Coach Clifford Fred said.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, a vigil was also held prior to the funeral on the same day of White’s expected baby shower.

Sources close to the family say that White was unhappy with her relationship because she wanted Bailey to find employment. Just one day before the tragic incident, White took to Facebook to express her feelings.
Mack Graham, was a close friend and co-worker of Sandra White at WellStar Medical Center Atlanta. He explains that he never saw this coming,
“She mentioned them having some problems but he never showed signs of violence. He was always a gentleman.” Said Graham. “She was a wonderful nurse who loved helping people, and loved being a mother, she will be missed.”
