I think one of the biggest issues is that since the Reagan era, the evening news and other information outlets have presented and shared information in sensationalist form. Everything looks and sounds like “yellow journalism” — after awhile it all begins to sound and look the same, and finding the real truthful information is hard. With so much sensationalism, it is easy to become jaded, to lose trust — especially if the same outlets say one thing one day and then turn around shortly thereafter and say the opposite. Some skepticism is good, but how do prevent that from leading to the loss of trust?
