Visiting Gamzigrad-Romuliana, Palace of Galerius

It’s not every day I get to visit the spot where a Roman Emperor becomes a god. In the small, eastern Serbian town of Gamzigrad, I got to see one of these places. Maura Hill, immediately outside of the Palace of Galerius, is where Emperor Galerius and his mother Romula underwent apotheosis, the process through which a mortal becomes a god.
