With week 3, we dive deep into the research phase.

After narrowing down my topics to 3 interests, I decided to go with the Dreams topic.

Some desk research:

How do people explain their dreams?

  • who tracks their dreams?
  • what goes into interpreting them and learning from them?
  • where do these people go when they want to find out what their dreams mean?

________________________________________________________________

A: people actively dreaming and seeking interpretations

E: these dreams occur in sleep (environment), and their interpretations occur elsewhere?

I: people interact with objects, people, and other emotions during their dreams

O: objects used anything and everything

U: the users involved are those dreaming, the ones in the dream itself, and the ones interpreting or studying the dreams

Case Study:

1. Interview Guide

Drafting Interview Guides to ask my fellow interviewees (pictured below).

From left to right, top to bottom: Jessie, Meera, Sanchi, Karen, Maya, Lama, Shadi, & Fathieh. All their answers were extremely insightful, ranging from similar reactions and opinions, to radically different ones.

2. Research Synthesis

And so, the grand affinity map to gather meta insights BEGINS.

Excited for week 4!
