I suppose the really important question is that WHY do the working class not support Corbyn? After all he supports working class issues and policies far more than any past Labour leader since the 70s, and far more than May or UKIP.

First, the media have focussed their hysteria on immigration rather than the NHS, employment rights or nationalisation, the one issue Corbyn has been at odds with the working class. However, this isn’t about him, it’s about destroying any change of Socialism getting a foothold, and ensuring people have little choice come the next election but neoliberalism. Why would they not behave the same way towards any Socialist?

What the media and his own MPs really desire, is to have another neo-liberal or Blairite as Labour leader since they can pretend to support the working class whilst really voting for privatisation, tax cuts for the rich and defence spending. In that way, the media moguls such as Murdoch will endorse, or at least not oppose Labour, whilst the electorate are duped into believing the party is in some way ‘left wing’ or moderate rather than just a right wing stooge. Labour members understand this, but the swing electorate are clueless.
