The Eagles Have Landed!
But the writing odyssey continues.
Well the wait is finally over and the author’s copies (author’s copies!) of my books have arrived from the good ole’ US of A and everything from the front covers to the fonts used and the strict formatting for each page is in place, and I couldn’t be more pleased or more proud. Please excuse me whilst I toot my own horn as today has officially been a good one and there’s a mixture of relief, pride and joy that I’ve finally done it.
OK they’re only self published but the world is a far different place these days and if I continued to wait around for a publisher to either find me out of the blue or respond to my polite emails, I’d never have published these books and patience is a virtue I simply do not possess!
It’s been a strange few weeks since I published the first book “Diary From The 2022 FIFA World Cup” and I used it, wisely even without hindsight, as somewhat of a trial run as to what to expect and after some teething problems and rookie errors, books 2 and 3 were relatively plain sailing aside from my own continuing first time mistakes.
If you’re here reading this and expecting or hoping for some guidance as to how to self publish, you’ve backed the wrong horse I’m afraid! I seem to have curated my own style as I’ve gone along or putting this another way, I’ve tried and failed and trialled and errored my way through after putting my heart and soul into these three books and often been incredibly frustrated with having the words/books/manuscripts ready, but forever failing on one aspect be it the fonts used or the cover not being exactly to requirements or just being befuddled by the exact specifications dictated by the publishers. All rookie errors, but I got there in the end.
Book number 4 is in the works for the end of this Summer and then I’ll decide what odyssey to embark upon next! In the meantime, here are the links to the books themselves (free to read if you have an Amazon Kindle Unlimited package) and a couple of pretty pictures too:
