This conversation is essential for shaping the future of the Republic. The weakness of the centrists is certainly worth noting — the obfuscation is particularly salient.

I’ve written my thoughts on the need for a new Left here. It’s essential that as the Left reconstructs itself, it does so with a strong enough intellectual center and with enough moral vigor that it can sustain the collapse of the Right without being taken down with it. The moral relativism that too frequently masquerades as tolerance is a rope of sand, and it shall hang us all if we allow it.
