Circuitous Paths

I got here trying to reply to a comment you made on something I wrote. But it seems appropriate. I will merely suggest that the Web is the place where the thinking and re-imagining will be done. A few years back I concluded that my best bet to do my part was and is Twitter. There are two reasons for this. For better or worse there is some cachet to having a Twitter presence. I sense that of all short messages that get sent out, a tweet is as likely as any to gain currency. So the first reason remains this hope that Twitter can over time generate influence in the direction of re-imagining the planet.

My theoretical justification for this line of thinking is provided by Charles Sanders Peirce and I have included a graphic that expresses it.

If you peruse some of what I’ve posted here you will see how I have gotten to my second point. It is in agreement with your conclusion about the need for persons universally to undergo enough of a change to get past binary thinking, the acceptance of violence and the affirmation of root values which I feel are tolerance, helpfulness, democracy and non-idolatry.

Gradually, I believe, the political game underway will prove unable to divide people who share the very same sense, no matter what they believe their politics to be. They know the truth is deeper. I have presumed a bit on your conclusion!

In any case, I think the Web is the evolutionary answer to the problem of re-imagining.
