I love your optimism.
I don’t think you can reach this voter in the same way she was reached by Trump — or even repulsed by him.
There has to be a different avenue.
We have to attempt to reach her through her humanity and her connectedness — through the things that define us as humans.
She has been isolated and told she is alone in the world except for Trump, and that only Trump can save her.
She can be reached by her friends and neighbors and those like her who say “You are not alone. There are millions of people like you who are strong and confident and open to the future. We will accept you as you are and even help you be confident about your own future.”
Trump speaks to the lowest parts of our nature (which is our human nature, not a separate part that is “evil” or bad).
We can respond by speaking to the brightest and highest part — the part that aspires to be good and confident and kind and hopeful.
People want hope, even though they are tempted to fear. Fear will motivate a reaction, but hope will motive a future.
I am as naïve as Anne Franck here:
In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart.
