What the hell do I do now?

Not too long ago I decided to concentrate on writing my blogs, which are hosted on Google’s Blogger. I have been using Blogger for almost 10 years now, primarily because it is free and easy to use for a non-techy like myself. I also like the fact that I can monetize my blog with Google AdSense and the Amazon Affiliate Program.

I started blogging on Blogger in early 2011 when I moved to Malaysia and decided to start a blog about my experiences. I monetized my blog, Retired in Malaysia, with AdSense in hopes of making enough money to pay for my custom domain. After a few months, I began to make a few pennies here and there. I was having fun and was quite proud of myself. With my perceived success, I decided to start another blog about politics and social issues, Steveso Thinks. …

My dog, Lucky, made me publish this!

Hi! It’s me, Lucky. I have some news to share with everyone. I am becoming famous on Facebook.

My dads have purchased a Tovala oven and subscribed to the prepared meals to cook in the oven. My dad, Kevin, loves to cook and when he cooks the Tovala meals he takes pictures of them to share on Facebook. Every time he prepares a meal and takes a photo I’m naturally close by his side, in case a morsel of food falls on the floor. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened yet.

People who see his posts and photos on Facebook have noticed that I’m in every photo. Some people were surprised when they noticed that my brother, Cato, photobombed the post because they thought I was the only dog, haha. …

Or are they irrelevant?

Wow! I just joined Medium and now I’m on my way to fame and fortune! According to all the Medium experts who share their secrets and earnings, the first thing we need to do is amass thousands of followers. We all remember that bullshit when we first joined. Most of us realized in due time that this was an exercise in futility.

Remember how we used to scroll through the stories to find those writers with thousands of followers whose articles had thousand of claps? Did we actually think these people would follow us back or give a rat’s ass about us? …

It’s not impossible!

With the election just a few days away my fears about the outcome are becoming more realistic. The normal headline-grabbing “October Surprise” never happened, but maybe an “October theft” did happen.

The Supreme Court in the past couple of days ruled that absentee ballots in Pennsylvania and North Carolina must be accepted after November 3rd. The media declared the rulings as victories for the Democrats. The Democrats openly rejoiced. And others declared a victory, not for the Democrats, but democracy. But the rulings could be a victory for Trump.

The Supreme Court rulings may, in reality, be a short term victory for voting rights. The dissenting justices, Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch implied that the decision could be revisited up to 3 days after election day and possibly invalidate those ballots. Newly seated illegitimate justice Barrett didn’t vote at this time saying she had not read the arguments in the case. We all know if there is another vote after the election, and it is apparent that Trump is losing by a small margin in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, she will vote to invalidate the late ballots. …

Living with a stolen Supreme Court

Like most people I know I was deeply depressed upon hearing that Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrette, was finally confirmed by the GOP senate. It was expected, but it still was a travesty. I was struck with the competing emotions of anger, fear, and depression. To some people, this is just another court seat that is being filled. Not for me. Once again as long as some people are not being directly affected they don’t care.

My first thoughts upon hearing that this right-wing religious extremist, who has actively spoken out against LGBTQ rights and same-sex marriage was that my marriage and those of millions of others will soon be in jeopardy. Two of the Justices, useless Clarence Thomas, and “Atilla” Alito have recently stated that the same-sex marriage ruling was a mistake and should be revisited. …

It’s been a while since I decided to reduce my presence on Medium and concentrate on my blogs on Blogger. I have occasionally written articles on my blogs which I have also shared on Medium, just to keep my finger in the pot. Since it was never my intention to become rich and famous I decided the stress and aggravation of trying to publish on Medium every day just wasn’t worth it. I am now getting more views on my blogs than I get on Medium, even though I’m not earning much more than a few cents. …

But will the fat lady sing?

Two weeks from today the 2020 presidential election will be over. Or will it? This election has not been like any other election in our country’s history for many reasons. Among them is the election is taking place during a pandemic which has forced a change in the way the candidates carry on their campaigns.

Old fashioned person to person campaigning, for the most part, has been replaced by virtual campaigning to protect the electorate from being infected by COVID-19. I should say that only the Democratic candidate JoeBiden has adhered to the CDC’s recommendations on the social distancing and the wearing of face masks to prevent the spread of the virus. Trump on the other hand, even though he supposedly has contracted the virus, continues to hold large in-person rallies in defiance of the medical experts. …

What am I going to write about after the election?

I don’t write for a living, to supplement my retirement income, or necessarily to make money, so I don’t write regularly. I primarily write to express my opinion or feelings about what is important to me. And that usually leads to me writing about politics or social issues. Because Trump, his enablers and supporters, are in direct opposition to the values I hold dearly and even my own existence as a gay person, I write a great deal about politics. …

It’s been a few days since the announcement that Donald Trump has tested positive for COVID-19. Like many Americans who have been subjected to his daily onslaught of lies for almost four years, I was extremely skeptical. I know that Trump and the GOP would do anything to ensure Trump is re-elected. The alternatives for Trump are prison time and bankruptcy.

At first I was almost sure that Trump was pulling a political stunt to control the 24/7 news coverage to overshadow Biden, as well as drawing attention away from his tax problems, the over 210K deaths from the Trump virus, and the tape of Melania bitching about the “fucking Christmas decorations” and mocking immigrant children in cages. …

With the publication of some of Trump’s tax returns by the New York Times proving that Trump is indeed a fraud, a tax cheat, and in debt owing hundreds of millions of dollars and Trump’s abhorring behavior in last night’s shit show, I am still amazed at how any sane person can still support him. Yet approximately 1/3 of the country supports him.

I am disgusted with Trump’s lying, his corruption, his extreme narcissism, his racism, his misogyny, his bigotry, his homophobia, his rudeness, and his lack of morals. He doesn’t represent anything I value and stand for. So naturally, I am puzzled why anyone would support him or agree with his policies and behavior. Notice that in the title of this article I used “acquaintances” instead of “friends”. …
