Two Remanded for Store Breaking

Tamba Johnson, 36, and Peter Samuel King, 30, cleaners at China International Fund Sierra Leone Limited Post were, on Tuesday August 23, remanded for store breaking and larceny when they were arraigned at Freetown Magistrate Court.
The particulars of offence indicate that both accused persons on July 25, 2016 and July 27, 2016 at China International Fund Sierra Leone Limited Post along Peninsular Road in the Western Area Rural District conspired with other persons unknown to commit breaking and larceny.
It was alleged that both Johnson and King broke and entered into the store of China International Fund Sierra Leone Limited Post and stole their two toilet seats, air conditioners, electric water heater, one laptop computer, and other electrical appliances, all valued at Le 17, 800,000.
During the cross-examination, the Manager of China International Fund Sierra Leone Limited, Jiang Blake told the court he do hold the keys to the store. He said that he went to the store on July 25, 2016 and discovered that the items were stolen, he reported the matter to the police.
The manager informed the court that the accused persons reported for duty between 7:30 to 8:00 in the morning.
He said that he was not aware of any rosters that they sign when they come to work. The manager also said that the second accused person was on medical leave when the incident took place. He also said that he did not see the second accused person breaking into the store.
